As the world changes and people relocate, the way in which populations secure health and wellbeing will become even more important. We’re looking for people who will examine how health problems and diseases affect individuals and populations, and for those who will develop treatments, solutions and preventative options to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of Australians.
Healthcare is being reinvented by the drive for economic sustainability and digital disruption. There is opportunity for Australia to ensure it is at the forefront of the next wave of disruption by being prepared for the next generation of smart technology as well as incentivising long-term behavioural changes needed to tackle chronic disease.
Some projects our teams at UWA are working on include using already proven theories to develop new treatments for other conditions, understanding the influences of child nutritional and survival outcomes, gender and food security issues in developing nations, mental health and much more.
