Community PartnersLeukaemia Foundation

Light the Night is the Leukaemia Foundation's annual fundraising walk. The event supports the foundation’s mission to help more Australian families affected by blood cancer, provide education and care, improve survival rates and quality of life, and fund world-class research to provide better diagnostics and treatments.

Families and friends come together at dusk on an evening in October to carry one of three coloured lanterns relevant to their journey with blood cancer. There is live music on the night and plenty of activities for the kids. Those attending raise money to give local families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support that will light the way forward.

About the partnership

We are proud to partner with the Leukaemia Foundation for Light the Night – a unique event bringing Australia’s blood cancer community together all over the country.

It is an honour to support and host this inspiring fundraising event that culminates in a twilight lantern walk through the beautiful grounds at UWA, bringing a little light into the lives of people with blood cancer.

We have worked with the Leukaemia Foundation for the past four Light the Night events, and provide one of almost 100 locations across Australia that host the organised walks.

The event is promoted among, and greatly supported by, UWA’s staff and student community. Last year, more than 1500 people gathered at UWA to take part.Today another 35 people will be told they have blood cancer. Be the light in their darkest hour. Join the event and reserve your lantern at
