Gina is a nutritionist and epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience in nutrition research. She has worked as a researcher and attracted nationally competitive research funding in Australia and the United Kingdom. She was a senior scientist at MRC Human Nutrition Research in Cambridge between 2009 and 2014.
Key research
Gina's research is focused on the dietary determinants of obesity and cardio-metabolic health, particularly in children and young people, and the factors that influence dietary intake in populations.
She specialises in applying empirical methods to examine dietary patterns; dietary tracking over the lifecourse; and identifying the social and environmental determinants of diet, in order to influence public health policy.
Roles, responsibilities and expertise
Gina leads the Nutrition and Health Research Group and teaches in the Master of Public Health program in the School of Population and Global Health.
