Biography
Pejman has completed a Bachelor of Applied Physics and a Masters of Medical Physics. He also has a PhD in Physics (Medical Physics) from the University of Newcastle, NSW in 2012.
After completing his MSc, Pejman joined the directory group at a medical cyclotron, where he worked for 8 years during which he developed novel techniques for production of a number of medical radioisotopes applicable for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
In 2008 he started a PhD at the University of Newcastle. The title of his project was “Improvement of EPID-based techniques for dosimetry and investigation of linac mechanical performance in advanced radiotherapy”.
He published ten peer reviewed papers as first author from his PhD and his methods were commercialized and used at hospitals.
In 2013, Pejman accepted an Assistant Professor position at the University of Western Australia, where he has been working since. While at UWA, he continued his work on improvement of the performance of radiotherapy machines.
In 2015, he became the UWA Medical Physics Program Chair.
Pejman has over 65 refereed publications, and his “h” index is 16. He collaborates with several hospitals and research centers in Australia and overseas.
