Maryann Evetts is currently Team Manager in the Economics Discipline at the UWA Business School.
Her duties include:
Head of Discipline Support including
•Assist with management of unit and teaching availability
•Academic recruitment support – faculty staff- eRecruitment
•Academic employment – sessional staff, including contract requirements, salary payment
•Management of academic staff- assist with PDS scheduling, leave liability
•Communications-manage curriculum maps, closing of loop meetings, compilation of accreditation evidence
•Accommodation planning- including relocations
•EO for discipline meetings
Tutor recruitment
•Oversee employment, payment and support
•Manage visitor requests and appointments
•Visa requests, travel and accommodation
•Seminar arrangements
Research Assistant employment
•Including contractual requirements, on boarding procedures and salary payment
Unit Support- including
•Timetabling, unit outlines, assessments, LMS
Team Management including
•Recruitment and training
•Workload allocation, leave and PDA
•Safety requirements

Maryann worked as Team Leader (Discipline Finance) for the UWA Business School from July 2013 until March 2016

Maryann’s key roles included:
1.Overseeing priorities for all Research Grants, staff recruitment and travel for Disciplines and the Centre for Social Impact (CSI)
2.High level financial advice to UWABS academic staff
3.Cash flow management of ARC and Industry project grants
4.Reconciliations including monitoring expenditure to comply with contractual and UWA policy requirements
5.Timely and appropriate reporting of financial information to staff
6.Budgeting and financial management CSI IBEC Conference
7.Managing the Discipline Finance Team of 2 Finance Officers including leave and professional development and PDAs
8.Level 1 Trobexis Approval Officer
9.Preparation of Casual Research Assistant contracts
10.e-Recruitment for academic fixed term and ongoing contracts

During her time at the UWA Business School Maryann has volunteered for a number of roles within the school including Building Warden, First Aid Officer, Professional Staff representative of UWABS Faculty Board and UWABS Safety committee member.

Maryann was the Executive Officer for the IT Functional review in 2013.

Prior to her current role Maryann worked as an Administrative Officer in the Accounting and Finance Discipline at the Business School.

Maryann’s first position at UWA was as the Executive Officer for the Director and General Manager UWA Oceans Institute. This role included
1.Planning, implementing and coordinating the necessary administrative requirements for the efficient management of the office including producing a Policies and Procedures Manual.
2.Organising functions and events, website updates, publishing advertising materials
3.All purchasing and reconciliation
4.Liaising with external organisations, staff, students and international visitors.

Prior to coming to UWA Maryann ran a successful small business in ladies fashions for eleven years.

Maryann has a Science Degree (Otago University) and a Diploma in Art & Design (Central Tafe WA)

During 2015 Maryann successfully completed a year long, 4 module eLAMP course through the L H Martin Institute and Uni Melbourne and was sponsored by OSDS at UWA, one of five recipients of this sponsorship at UWA.

In addition, Maryann has completed a few personal development courses including Introduction to Management, resilience at work and managing Mental Illness in the workplace.
