Biography
Brenda joined the UWA Law School in 2006, becoming Deputy Dean of Law in 2012. Upon the inception of the combined Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education in January 2017, she assumed her current role/s as Deputy Executive Dean, and Associate Dean (Community & Engagement), of that Faculty.
With a history in general liability and professional indemnity insurance litigation, specialising in health law, Brenda continues to consult into private practice. She is the Chair of the WA Reproductive Technology Council, and also serves on the Clinical Ethics Service for the Child and Adolescent Health Service.
Key research
Brenda's principal research interests are in Health Law, Torts, Insurance Law and Jurisdiction. She completed her PhD at the University of Tasmania (her doctoral thesis being: 'Interventions in Perinatal Medicine: A Jurisdictional Analysis').
