French born and educated; in Australia since 1983, a lecturer at UWA since 1992.

French cultures and societies, language, literature; teaching innovations. Examples of research fields:
- Migrant literature (Beurs, Algerian War from a French perspective)
- Islam in France
- French drama (works by Yasmina Reza, and other playwrights)
- Social issues in testimonies and autobiographies (HIV-AIDS testimonies, immersion journalism, violence)

Four books of literary criticism; one translation (French into English); 50 refereed articles (four in process); six book chapters.
