Biography
I have a PhD in Late Medieval/Early Modern Social History from the University of Western Australia(UWA). I also have a Graduate Diploma in Education from UWA and BA Hons.(First Class) from the University of Liverpool, UK. Before commencing my PhD in 2010, i was a History and Humanities teacher in high schools in Perth.
Key research
My education research is focused on the History of Education and History Education in secondary schools as well as in tertiary institutions. I am also an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Humaities at UWA where my research focuses on children in sixteenth-century northern England.

Roles, responsibilities and expertise
I am the Humanities and Social Sciences Coordinator at the in the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at UWA. I also teach on other units in the Masters of Teaching and Graduate Diploma of Education in the GSE and on Education undergraduate broadening units.
Memberships
I am a member of the Historical Association (UK); History Teachers Association WA; Australia and New Zealand Medieval and Early Modern Society; Perth Medieval and Renaissance Group.
Honours and awards
Faculty of Arts Teaching Excellence Award Early Career Researcher 2013.
Teaching
I teach on the Humanities and Social Sciences Curriculum units and various other units for the Masters of Teaching and Graduate Diploma of Education. I also teach on Learning to Learn, an undergraduate broadening unit taught by the GSE.
Current projects
I am currently writing a chapter on irregular schools and schooling for a volume in the International Handbook of Historical Studies of Education edited by Tanya Fitzgerald, LA Trobe University.
