Biography
Shiaohuey Chow is an experimentalist in geotechnical engineering. Her key research involves development of free-fall penetrometers as a cost effective offshore site investigation tool, and novel dynamically installed anchor concept in sand for mooring offshore floating renewable energy devices. Her works have received several international best paper awards in the last 5 years. Her most recent research focuses on understanding partially drained to undrained behaviour in sand, crucial to ensure safe performance of offshore foundation under environmental loading.

Shiaohuey obtained her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2013, and her MEng degree in geotechnical engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2003. She has worked as a structural design engineer and lecturer in civil engineering in Malaysia prior to her PhD.
