The University of Western Australia

Empowering innovation

IQ is in its early days. In the first instance, it will pursue five key initiatives. IQ’s emphasis is on empowering and expanding existing projects to achieve momentum and become transformative for the university.

These are:

  • Supporting Student Entrepreneurship – An initiative to support student-led entrepreneurialism ( link to page 8)
  • Start Something - an initiative to encourage staff and postgraduate students to commercialise their research and collaborate with industry (link to page 9)
  • Co-operative Education for Enterprise Development (CEED)  - An expansion of the CEED program that places students within business, government and not-for-profit settings to increase collaboration with industry and afford students real-world experience. (link to https://www.ceed.uwa.edu.au/)
  • Mo4U  - An initiative to create new formal partnerships with industry collaborators, measured by the creation of MOUs and other agreements (link to page 10)
  • Woodside Ocean Works – maybe link to page 11. Contract hasn’t been confirmed so I’ll get back to you on this.
