The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) coordinates the University?s international strategic engagement, and manages the establishment of agreements with key international partners.

The Protocol Officer is part of the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (International). The Protocol Officer is responsible for the planning and co-ordination of high-level official government, corporate, institutional and university visits to The University of Western Australia. These visits are hosted by a member of the UWA Executive. In organising a visit the Protocol Officer liaises with the University Executive, University staff, Government officials and other appropriate individuals, groups and institutions to determine appropriate arrangements for the visit are put in place.
The Academic Partnerships and Pathways team develops and manages strategic partnerships onshore and offshore with universities, other education providers, third-party intermediaries and, where appropriate, Government agencies, to build pathways for cohorts of international students to the University.
The key focus is on facilitating enrolment of international students in coursework and research degrees and other learning programs, through formalised partnerships such as articulation and study abroad agreements which provide assured pathways of admission.
The Global Government and Corporate Relations team develops and manages strategic international partnerships for the University with governments and other public and corporate organisations in the region.
These groups include ministries, departments and agencies of foreign governments at national, State/Provincial and local level, official foreign government representatives in Australia, including embassies and consulates, and foreign scholarship funding agencies.
The University Partnerships team develops and manages strategic partnerships for the University with foreign universities, both bilaterally and through university networks and alliances, and promotes research engagement with international partner universities and other organisations.
The key focus is on building the University?s international reputation and prioritising international research engagement in line with University priorities.
