4-1 – What are the plans for exams?

4-2 – Will the libraries be open?

Some libraries remain open and with additional online support services available.

4-3 - What resources are available to help me study remotely?

There are a number of online learning tools and support services available to assist you. The Library's Learning online for students page provides a summary of resources.


4-4 - If the university closes, will I still be able to complete my degree on time?

We are planning how we will continue our tuition obligations either face-to-face or through recorded lectures and on-line material made available for as many units as possible in the event we make the decision to suspend face-to-face activities.

4-5 - Can students with access requirements or caring responsibilities access adjustments through UniAccess?

Yes. UniAccess can assist you if you have a physical or mental health condition, issue or disability affecting your studies. UniAccess is also able to assist you if you are caring for someone who is living with a disability. Appointments are available face-to-face or via phone.

4-6 – What should I do if I feel anxious about coronavirus?

4-7 - My study has been impacted by Coronavirus, what are my options?

If your studies have been impacted by Coronavirus you may need extra time to complete your Semester 1 assessments. Learn more about special consideration.

4-8 - Are you needing help to connect with UWA specialist support services?

UWA Student Welfare provides support, advise and helps connect students with specialist support services, both on campus and within the community.

Our team can help talk through accommodation, study support, general life events or help connect you with specialist health and wellbeing services welfare officers. If you are worried or simply need someone to talk to Student Welfare can be reached by email at studentwelfare-studserv@uwa.edu.au or by phone through Student Wellbeing 6488 2427.

4-9 - What if I'm due to graduate in July 2020?

Due to COVID-19 and the Federal Government’s ban on gatherings, the July 2020 round of graduation ceremonies has been postponed as a face-to-face event. If you are eligible to graduate, you will be graduated in absentia (without being present) at the first available date after your completion is confirmed.

You will be invited to attend a ceremony of your choosing within the next two years, once gatherings are permitted again.

Your hard copy award certificate will be posted to your semester address (as recorded in studentConnect) within 10 days of your in absentia graduation date. Certificates are posted by registered post within Australia, and DHL Courier for overseas. You will also receive a digital testamur and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement via My eQuals within 48 hours of your in absentia conferral.

This decision has been made to ensure that our graduates are able to receive their confirmation of completion and continue with their career planning, while also recognising the importance of being able to have friends and family attend the face-to-face graduation ceremony event as a celebration, at a later time. Our highest priority is the safety of our staff, students, and the wider community.
