Convocation centenary photo shoot

Brought to you by the UWA Historical Society, in conjunction with Convocation

On 4 March 1913, the inaugural meeting of the Convocation was held in St George's Hall on Hay Street, near the corner of Irwin Street, Perth. The 1913 meeting was chaired by the then Chancellor Sir John Winthrop Hackett and the Rev Bishop Riley was elected as the first Warden of Convocation. The historic façade including the portico, steps and tall white columns were restored when a new building was constructed behind it.

To celebrate the centenary of Convocation’s first meeting, a photo-shoot of 100 graduates took place there at 10 am on Monday 4 March 2013. The UWA Historical Society was delighted for so many alumni to join us.
