Thank you for considering locating your event at UWA. UWA hosts thousands of events every year, welcoming the community to the campus to enjoy our world-class facilities.

Central Teaching Facilities are UWA’s shared spaces. These lecture theatres, seminar rooms and flexible spaces are suitable for a wide range of activities, including conferences, meetings, workshops, film screenings, talks and social events.

For appropriate information on how to book please select the option that best describes you.

Internal hirers
Academic and administrative bodies within UWA.
Affiliate hirers
External bodies with an official association with UWA or whose activities are judged by the Office of Community & Engagement to be beneficial to the University. The Guild and Guild-affiliated societies are Affiliate hirers.
External hirers
Hirers that are not Internal or Affiliate hirers.

Internal Hirers

Internal hirers are academic and administrative bodies within UWA.

Charges

Bookings furthering one of the University’s primary objectives (Teaching, Research and Community & Engagement) attract a 100% discount of room hire. Bookings which do not further UWA’s primary objectives are charged at the commercial rate.

Additional facilities services, such as for labour, additional audio visual and cleaning are charged at the marginal rate.

How to Book

Make your booking request through Resource Booker. You will need a Pheme login. Additional support information may be emailed to venues@uwa.edu.au.

The Venues Office will establish if the booking furthers one of the University primary objectives of Teaching, Research and Community & Engagement.

If the information in the booking is not sufficient to do this, the Venues Office may request additional evidence, such as:

  • the unit code of the activity
  • the written strategic objectives of the body making the booking
  • an MOU or formal agreement describing the activity
  • a letter or email of support from a Dean, Director, Chief Officer or equivalent.

The Venues Office will further determine if the booking is an efficient use of space and whether the booking clashes with another (for example, because of noise, access or parking).

Your booking is subject to the Conditions of Hire.

Affiliate hirers

Affiliate hirers are external bodies with an official association with UWA or whose activities are judged by the Office of Community & Engagement to be beneficial to the University. The Guild and Guild-affiliated societies are Affiliate hirers.

Charges

Bookings that further UWA’s objectives of affiliation attract a 100% discount of room hire and are instead charged a per-room daily booking charge. Bookings which do not meaningfully further UWA’s objectives of affiliation will be charged at the commercial rate.

Affiliate booking charge: $50+GST per room per day, irrespective of the duration of the day’s booking.

Additional facilities services, such as for labour, additional audio visual and cleaning are charged at the marginal rate.

Guild-affiliated societies can book, Monday to Friday during Semester, two hours of Central Teaching space with no room hire charge. Additional space attracts the Affiliate booking charge.
